2) Usage and dosage

○ Adults: As an initial dose of doxycycline, 100 mg (potency) is administered orally every 12 hours. As a maintenance dose, 100 mg (potency) per day is administered in 1 to 2 divided doses. ○ Adolescents 12 years of age or older: In the case of a body weight of 45 kg or less, the initial dose is 4 mg (potency) per kg of body weight divided orally twice a day. As a maintenance dose, 2 mg (potency) per kg of body weight per day is administered in 1 to 2 divided doses. If the body weight exceeds 45 kg, the dose corresponding to the adult dose is administered. ○ In case of severe infection, the initial dose is administered every 12 hours. This drug should be administered for another 24 to 48 hours after the symptoms subside and the fever subsides. For streptococcal infection, administration is continued for at least 10 days to prevent the development of rheumatic fever or glomerulonephritis. Increase or decrease appropriately according to age and symptoms.
