2) Usage and dosage

○ Adults: As donepezil hydrochloride, administer 5 mg once a day before going to bed. If sleep disturbances such as strange dreams, nightmares, or insomnia occur, morning intake of this drug may be considered. Since the concentration of donepezil reaches a steady state after 15 days of administration and the frequency of adverse reactions may be affected by the increase rate, a 5 mg dose should be administered for 4 to 6 weeks. After evaluating the clinical response during this period, the dose may be increased to 10 mg. When increasing the dose to 10 mg per day, administer while paying attention to adverse reactions in the digestive system. When administration of this drug is discontinued, the effect gradually decreases, and there is no rebound effect due to abrupt discontinuation of administration. ○ Underweight female patients aged 85 years or older: Careful monitoring is required as adverse reactions occur frequently. Elderly women with low body weight should not exceed 5 mg per day. ○ Children: There is no use experience for children.
