Treatment of adult patients with type 2 diabetes who cannot adequately control blood sugar through diet and exercise (especially overweight diabetic patients)- This drug can be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral hypoglycemic agents or insulin.
2) Usage, dosage
The administered dose should be determined for each individual based on drug effectiveness and tolerability, and should not exceed the recommended maximum daily dose.
- The typical initial dose is 500 mg metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablet once a day with dinner.
- The dosage should be adjusted by measuring blood sugar levels after a week. Gastrointestinal adverse reactions can be improved with gradual dose increase. The maximum dose is 2000 mg per day.
