1) Efficacy, effect
○ Increased penetration when administered subcutaneously, intramuscularly, local anesthetic, or subcutaneously.
○ Promotes reabsorption of excess fluid and blood within tissues
2) Usage, dosage
Adults, Pediatrics and Seniors
1. Subcutaneous injection (mass subcutaneous injection)
As hyaluronidase, inject 1,500 IU (1 mL) into the relevant area before starting subcutaneous injection, or inject into the tube about 2 cm above the injection needle when starting injection. When administering 500 to 1,000 mL of fluid, 1,500 IU of this drug is appropriate. In children and the elderly, the rate of fluid administration and total dose should be carefully controlled, and especially in patients with renal impairment, caution should be taken to avoid fluid overload.
2. When administering subcutaneous or intramuscular injection
Mix 1,500 IU of this drug directly into the injection solution to be administered.
3. Local anesthetic to administer approximately 1,500 IU
It is used by mixing it with injection solution. When used in ophthalmology, a concentration of 15 IU per mL is recommended.
4. Extravasation: In cases where it is diffuse rather than localized, extravasation occurs.
After the lesion appears, infiltrate 1,500 IU (1 mL) of this drug into the lesion area as soon as possible.
5. Hematoma
Infiltrate 1,500 IU (1 mL) of this drug into the affected area.
The subcutaneous injection solution must be isotonic with the extracellular fluid of the body. This drug can be combined with commonly used intravenous solutions. Cases of large-scale subcutaneous injections using physiological saline solution, 0.18% sodium chloride, 4% glucose, 0.45% sodium chloride, 2.5% glucose, and 5% glucose injection have been reported.
Potassium is administered at 34 mmol/L in isotonic glucose or physiological saline injection.
Infusion solutions containing electrolytes are more suitable than infusion solutions that do not contain electrolytes, and should not be injected too quickly. This drug is used in combination with morphine, diamorphine, hydromorphine, chlorpromazine, metoclopramide, promazine, dexamethasone, local anesthetics, and epinephrine.
